My first entrepreneurial adventure was selling Subway sandwiches in high school. Back then, Subway had a “two for Tuesday” special where they sold two subs for the price of one. I was able to charge my classmates the price of the sub but no extra since my profit came from that discount. My classmates loved it, I loved it, and I knew business ownership was my future.
I graduated Kettering University in the fall of 2008 during the Great Recession. On my first day of work after graduating, I put in my two-week notice and set sail for discovering a business I could own. I started off as a franchise consultant, and then in 2009, I met the founder of Disc Replay, a retail store that buys and sells video games and movies. Being a video game nerd myself, this was the prefect business.
I opened my first Disc Replay in the summer of 2009. To diversify, I opened a Plato’s Closet a couple years later, and then I continued expanding, meeting various business partners along the way. It has been a great ride so far, and I can’t wait to see what’s next
